Selaković talked with the new head of Iranian diplomacy

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, talked on the phone today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

Minister Selaković wished his Iranian colleague, who officially took office as Foreign Minister on 26 August, success and happiness in his work, expressing belief that our two countries are facing a period in which otherwise very good, friendly and sincere relations will be further improved.

On this occasion, Selaković sent an invitation to his Iranian colleague to participate in the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the First Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement, which was held in Belgrade in 1961.

According to him, Serbia is interested in establishing the practice of regular political dialogue with the high representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the realization of mutual visits at the highest level.

The interlocutors assessed that it would be mutually beneficial to establish a regular working dialogue and political consultations between the two ministries.

Minister Selaković thanked his Iranian colleague for the consistent support of that country to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, as well as for the support to our country in international organizations.

The interlocutors also referred to the epidemiological situation, and Minister Abdollahian thanked Serbia for the donation of 50,000 Covid-19 vaccines to Iran. The head of Serbian diplomacy pointed out that the donation of Serbia is an expression of our solidarity with the Iranian state and its people.
