Selaković sent congratulations on the occasion of the National Day of the People's Republic of China

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, sent a congratulatory message today on the occasion of the National Day of the People's Republic of China, wishing his colleague Wang Yi the development and prosperity of China and the well-being of the friendly Chinese people.

"Allow me to congratulate you on this occasion on the centenary of the existence of the Communist Party of China, whose wise and dedicated leadership, at the head of which is the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, has achieved impressive results in all spheres of development and enabled harmony and prosperity to the Chinese people. I am convinced that in the years to come, Chinese diplomacy, led by you, will continue to achieve successes in order to continue the all-round development of your country and people, as well as to preserve peace and stability in the world", Selaković said.

According to him, the steel friendship that unites our countries and peoples, as well as mutual trust, understanding and support in issues of essential interest for the two countries, are the foundation of our comprehensive strategic partnership.

Selaković also stated that the extraordinary relations between our countries were additionally strengthened by close communication and personal friendly relations between the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

Expressing gratitude once again for China's help and solidarity during the fight against the corona virus epidemic, Selaković underlined that it is of special importance for Serbia that it has started the construction of a vaccine factory for the company Sinopharm, with China.

In his congratulatory message, Selaković pointed out Serbia's commitment to the realization of the "Belt and Road" initiative, as well as to the mechanism of cooperation between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

The head of Serbian diplomacy also thanked for the continuous support that the People's Republic of China provides to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia and reiterated Serbia's strong and unwavering support for the "one China" policy and the "one country, two systems" principle.

"I sincerely hope that China, as one of the most important countries at the global level, a strong advocate of international law and order and one of Serbia's greatest friends, will continue to actively engage in favor of the basic postulates of international law and the United Nations Charter, as well as our arguments when it comes to Kosovo and Metohija", stated Selaković.

Minister Selaković expressed hope that Minister Wang Yi would attend the commemorative meeting in Belgrade this month on the occasion of marking the 60th anniversary of the first conference of the Non-Aligned Movement.
