Serbia and Cameroon friendly countries sharing common values

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, has met in New York today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cameroon, Lejeune Mbella.


Minister Selaković emphasized that Serbia and Cameroon are brotherly and friendly countries, which shared common values, especially with regards to the Non-Allied Movement, which was, according to his words, a part of our joint history but also a part of our future. 

Serbia, as Selaković said, inherited also other principles of the Non-Allied Movement and the upcoming celebration of the 60th anniversary of the first conference of the Non-Allied in Belgrade would be the opportunity to reaffirm these values. He expressed satisfaction because Minister Mbella announced he would lead the delegation of Cameroon at the summit in Belgrade in October.

The Serbian Foreign Minister also, on the foundation of friendly historical relations, expressed the readiness to strengthen the political dialog through the exchange of visits at the high and top level and improve economic cooperation of Serbia and Cameroon as well as the cooperation in other fields.

Minister Selaković thanked his interlocutor for the principled support of Cameroon to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, observance of the international law and support to our country in international organizations.

Selaković highlighted that our country, within the program “World in Serbia” increased the number of scholarships for the young people from Cameroon for studying in Serbia.
