11. Oct 2021.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikola Selaković, met today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala, Pedro Brolo Vila, emphasizing that the Central American country in Serbia is recognized as a sincere friend.

Selaković expressed satisfaction with the opportunity, only ten days after his official visit to Guatemala, to continue talks with Minister Pedro Brolo Vila on improving cooperation between the two countries.

The interlocutors confirmed the determination to engage in consultations between the two ministries by the end of this year, which should result in the text of a comprehensive agreement on cooperation between the two countries that will cover many areas of common interest, such as culture, education, sports, economy, etc.

They are convinced that this will result in the improvement of both political relations and economic cooperation, which are currently at a modest level.

On this occasion, Minister Selaković thanked Guatemala for its consistent support to Serbia on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, expressing confidence that we will be able to count on the support of that friendly state in international organizations in the future.

Selaković thanked his colleague from Guatemala for deciding to personally represent his country at the commemorative meeting on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the first conference of non-aligned countries, emphasizing that Guatemalan representatives will always be welcomed in Belgrade as dearest guests.
