Serbia thankful to Iran for the support regarding K&M

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, has met in New York today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

Selaković expressed satisfaction because of the opportunity, after this year’s visit to Iran, to continue high-level contacts with representatives of this country. Moreover, the interlocutors also discussed the realization of the top-level visit.

Congratulating the Iranian colleague on recent appointment to the office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Selaković expressed the expectation that the relations of the two countries would continue to develop in the spirit of mutual understanding and respect and that Amir-Abdollahian would be the guest of Belgrade at the upcoming celebration of the 60th anniversary of the First conference of the Non-Allied Movement.

Selaković thanked his interlocutor for the consistent support of Iran to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia and support in international organization.

Serbia is, according to his words, interested in the continuation of strengthening of the political dialog with Iran as well as the improvement of economic cooperation. With regards to this, Selaković informed his Iranian colleague on the successful economic reforms in Serbia and positive agenda of our country in the region reflected in the “Open Balkans” initiative.
