11. Oct 2021.
Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikola Selaković, met today, on the sidelines of a high-level gathering dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the first conference of the Non-Aligned Movement, with Alpha Barry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, African Integration and Diaspora of Burkina Faso.

Minister Selaković expressed his appreciation for the fact that Minister Barry is attending the event in Belgrade marking this important jubilee of the Non-Aligned, sharing his expectation that this meeting will be only an introduction to further talks and more frequent communication.

Selaković assessed that bilateral relations are not sufficiently developed, although they were established back in 1968, and said that it is necessary to work actively on strengthening the political dialogue, which would be greatly contributed by the exchange of visits at the highest level.

Also, Selaković conveyed Serbia's readiness to improve economic and business cooperation and singled out agriculture, infrastructure and education as suitable cooperation areas.

Speaking about cooperation in the field of education, Selaković especially mentioned the scholarship program for foreign students “World in Serbia”, expressing hope that students from Burkina Faso will continue to apply. He pointed out that Serbia is ready to provide four times as many scholarships for students as part of this project, starting next year.
