Traditional friendship and mutual understanding between Serbia and Kenya

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, met today in Nairobi with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kenya, Ababu Namwamba, and handed him an invitation letter for the participation of representatives of that country in the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the first conference of the Non-Aligned Movement, which will be held on 11 and 12 October in Belgrade.

During the meeting at the airport in Nairobi, the interlocutors stated that the bilateral relations between Serbia and Kenya are very good and friendly, and that they are characterized by mutual understanding and trust.

On this occasion, Minister Selaković pointed out that Serbia is proud of the long history of relations and cooperation, which dates back to the period of the SFRY and the joint activities in the Non-Aligned Movement.

The head of Serbian diplomacy once again thanked Kenya for its principled support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.

Selaković stated that the economic cooperation of our countries is insufficiently developed, but also that there are great potentials for its improvement, especially in the fields of agriculture, pharmacy, construction, heavy industry and energy.

Minister Selaković also mentioned the cooperation within the "World in Serbia" project and added that Serbia intends to increase the number of scholarships for students from African countries in the next academic year.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, will visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, Angola and Namibia from 19 to 21 August, where he will have meetings with high and top officials of those countries.

Minister Selaković will hand over donations of vaccines against the corona virus, as well as official invitations to participate in the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the first conference of the Non-Aligned Movement.
