Traditionally close and friendly ties between Serbia and Zimbabwe

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, met today, on the sidelines of the gathering on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the first conference of the Non-Aligned Movement, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Zimbabwe, Frederick Makamure Shava.ом.

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the fact that the celebration of the NAM jubilee in Belgrade provided an opportunity to continue improving cooperation between Serbia and Zimbabwe and maintaining contact at a high level.

It was stated in the conversation that the improvement of the political dialogue through the exchange of visits at high and highest levels is in the mutual interest.

On this occasion, Selaković also thanked Zimbabwe for its principled and consistent support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia and the protection of our state and national interests within multilateral organizations.

The ministers agreed that relations between the two countries are traditionally friendly and that efforts are needed to raise economic cooperation to a higher level.

Minister Selaković stated that there is an exceptional space for strengthening trade cooperation, as well as cooperation in the field of agriculture.

The head of Serbian diplomacy expressed his belief that the planned opening of our diplomatic and consular mission in Harare will accelerate the renewal of close relations and cooperation between our two countries.

Zimbabwe's foreign minister thanked Serbia for its solidarity and donation of 30,000 doses of vaccines to that country.
