Minister Dačić meets with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić received Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Serbia Chen Bo today.

In an open and cordial conversation, Minister Dačić and Ambassador Chen agreed that Serbia and China were committed to a continuous development of strong ties based on an overall strategic partnership and steel friendship.

Highlighting his deep gratitude to China for its respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, strongly rooted in the international law, Minister Dačić reaffirmed Serbia’s consistent support to the One China policy and the One Country, Two Systems principle.

Minister Dačić and Ambassador Chen both confirmed their readiness to continue strengthening the bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as enhancing the cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road initiative and the Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries mechanism, which were deemed highly important by the Republic of Serbia.

Mutual interest was shown in a further intensification of political dialogue, including an exchange of high-level or highest-level visits and a further improvement of economic and investment cooperation, with an emphasis on attracting new Chinese companies, investing in new infrastructure projects, and concluding a Free Trade Agreement.

Both stated that they were very pleased with the recent establishment of a direct air route between Serbia and China, as another confirmation of strong ties and close friendship between the two countries.
