30. Dec 2022.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić sent a congratulatory message to the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Qin Gang on the occasion of his inauguration. The message reads as follows:

“Your Excellency,

On the occasion of your inauguration as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, please kindly receive my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for successful in your mandate. I firmly believe that the People’s Republic of China, with you in charge of its diplomacy, will further enhance its international reputation and achieve new success in all areas of its development.

I will be greatly honoured to cooperate with you as I had with your predecessor, Wang Yi, on further strengthening the traditionally close and unbreakable relations between our two countries and enhancing cooperation in all areas, making the cooperation and the connections between our two friendly nations even closer, and working together on preserving the fundamental principles of the international law and the key principles of the Charter of the United Nations, at this time of enormous challenges that we are facing on the global level.

I would like to use this opportunity to reaffirm the strong commitment of the Republic of Serbia to further enriching and developing cooperation in all areas with the People's Republic of China on the foundations of a comprehensive strategic partnership and steel friendship, as well as through the Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries mechanism and the Chinese Belt and Road initiative, to which I am ready to continue making a strong personal contribution, as I have before.

We deeply appreciate the continuous support of the People’s Republic of China to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, and its non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo. I assure you that the Republic of Serbia will continue to provide strong and consistent support to the One China policy and the One Country, Two Systems principle.

I sincerely look forward to our future cooperation, and would like to invite you to visit the Republic of Serbia as soon as possible. It would also be my great honour and pleasure to visit your beautiful country again, at a mutually acceptable time.

Awaiting our meeting, which I hope will be as soon as possible, Your Excellency, please accept my heartfelt congratulations and my deepest appreciation.

Ivica Dačić”
