Selaković: To strengthen political dialogue with Namibia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, talked in Lusaka with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Namibia, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.

Selaković stated that Serbia and Namibia are bound by traditionally friendly relations that date back to the time of the struggle of the Namibian people for liberation.

The Minister said that Serbia is committed to strengthening political dialogue and the exchange of visits at the high and highest level, and in this regard, they discussed preparations for the realization of the visit of the President of Namibia to our country by the end of the year.

The head of Serbian diplomacy thanked Namibia for its principled position on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija and the support it provides to us in international organizations.

The interlocutors discussed the potentials for improving economic cooperation, especially cooperation in the field of agriculture, defense industry and high technologies.

Minister Selaković informed Minister Nandi-Ndaitwah about the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade and expressed expectation that Namibia would be represented at the highest level.

Also, the heads of diplomacy discussed the possibilities for cooperation in the fight against COVID-19.
