State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nemanja Starović, attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Serbia-Mexico, 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations" today in the Archives of Yugoslavia.

In his address, the secretary of state pointed out that bilateral relations between Serbia and Mexico are traditionally friendly, emphasizing that they are characterized by mutual respect and support.

He said that the celebration of this jubilee gives an incentive to continue to strengthen friendly ties between Serbia and Mexico in the coming years, but also to continue to search for all meeting points and topics on which we can cooperate.

Starović said that the two countries share a strong commitment to the fundamental principles of international law and common views on numerous international problems.

"Serbia greatly appreciates the principled position of Mexico and is thankful for the consistent support for the inviolability of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country", Starović said.

The secretary of state underlined that the friendship and respect between the two countries can be seen through mutual solidarity in challenging moments for both countries, such as natural disasters in Serbia in 2014 and Mexico in 2017.

"Serbia and Mexico have been and will remain sincere partners, always ready to share the responsibility for the implementation of joint construction of a more equal and prosperous world", Starović pointed out.

In addition to the secretary of state, Mexican Ambassador to Serbia, Carlos Félix Corona and Director of the Archives of Yugoslavia, Milan Terzić, spoke at the opening of the exhibition.

The exhibition includes the most important documents from the funds and collections that testify to the diplomatic, cultural, economic relations between the two countries and illustrates the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries that have never been interrupted.
