Tamara Vucic at the Conference of Arab Women Investors Union in Cairo as its Honorary President

30. Oct 2023.
The spouse of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Tamara Vucic, is this year's Honorary President of the Conference of Arab Women Investors Union, held under the slogan “Youth - the Core of Sustainable Development...Opportunities and Challenges”, organized by the Arab Women Investors Union, at the headquarters of the Arab League, in the period from 30 October to 3 November, and co-sponsored by the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Arab League.

"I would like to take this opportunity to particularly emphasize the dedication and significant role played by the long-time Secretary-General of the Arab League, Aboul Gheit, a sincere and proven friend of the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian people", Tamara Vucic said, adding that she was proud that the Republic of Serbia traditionally fostered close and friendly relations with members of the Arab League, based on mutual understanding and respect.

She stated that she was particularly pleased that this year she was speaking in her capacity as Honorary President of the Conference of Arab Women Investors Union, which had an immeasurable role in promoting female entrepreneurship, and noted that she had special respect for the efforts being made by the Arab League to improve the position of women, empower the youth and protect the rights of children, pointing out that youth was our most important resource and that respect was the basis of friendship between Serbia and Egypt, as well as that our task was to help them, to support, encourage, motivate and direct them, relying not only on their large number, but also on their fresh and a different view of the world, an uninhibited flow of thought only young people can have.

The spouse of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Tamara Vucic, said that today more than ever, we needed mutual respect and understanding, both at the personal level and at the level of peoples, religions, ideologies, in order to preserve life on the planet and meet the Sustainable Development Goals.

Tamara Vucic said that the relations of mutual respect which were the basis of friendship between Serbia and Egypt, spanning 115 years, were elevated to the level of a strategic partnership during the historic visit of President Fattah el-Sisi to Serbia in July last year, when an Air Serbia direct flight between Belgrade and Cairo was re-launched. I am confident that the current stage of our relations, as we expect the signing of a free trade agreement in the near future, represents only one fragment of a much longer path of fraternal relations that we nurture on a daily basis.

The spouse of the President of the Republic of Serbia Tamara Vucic was presented with a Plaque as Honorary President of the 26th Conference of Arab Women Investors Union.
