02. Sep 2021.
State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nemanja Starović, said that the state leadership of Serbia is ready for all scenarios after 4 September, when the one-year moratorium from the Washington Agreement expires, during which Pristina was expected to suspend efforts to gain membership in international organizations, and Serbia to suspend the campaign for the non-recognition of the so-called Kosovo.

"After 4 September, there will be no automatism on our side, we will monitor the behavior of Pristina, as well as its international sponsors, and determine our future actions accordingly", Starović said as a guest on TV Prva.

Starović referred to the policy of Serbia, the policy of political independence and military neutrality, noting that only such a political course can pay off in the long run and that this became clear during the corona virus pandemic, when Serbia was the only country in the region which had success in procuring medical supplies and vaccines.

The State Secretary pointed out that Serbia showed a high level of responsibility and solidarity during the pandemic, emphasizing that our country donated 200,000 vaccines to the countries of the region, that it donated 100,000 vaccines to the Czech Republic, that 200,000 citizens of the region were vaccinated in Serbia, and that now we are realizing donations of several hundred thousand vaccines to the countries of Africa and Asia.

Starović reminded that today marks the 60th anniversary of the First Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade and announced that a large gathering will be organized in our capital on 11 and 12 October to mark the jubilee.

Starović said that all member states of the Non-Aligned Movement, as well as observer states, were invited to the gathering in Belgrade, and that over 150 delegations were invited in total.

"We want to renew ties with the non-aligned nations, which are based on deep and strong foundations", Starović pointed out.

Commenting on the participation of the President of Serbia in the Bled Strategic Forum, Starović pointed out that President Vučić spoke about the future and our main project of regional cooperation, the "Open Balkans" initiative, which creates a stable perspective for our region. The State Secretary also mentioned the importance that France, the Visegrad Four countries, but also the United States attach to this initiative.

Speaking about the announced visit of the German Chancellor, Starović mentioned that it was a visit of great importance, as well as that it would complete a good economic and political cooperation between Serbia and Germany.
